There are two methods to Save a Whiteboard.
File>Save menu item. By selecting this option the Whiteboard will automatically generate a name based on the person who initiated the save. It will be names (User) and a numeral depending on the order. For instance, (user)1.wbd.
Click the
Save icon,
. How
this icon functions depends upon whether or not the Whiteboard is associated
with a current file (Does the Whiteboard already have a name associated
to it?).
The “Save” button quietly updates the contents of the file when an existing file is being edited (e.g. The Whiteboard already has a name). Such a file is opened when a Whiteboard from your local hard drive is opened or added to a meeting or if a new Whiteboard is added to your meeting from the Meeting Window Whiteboard easel button.
The file name is: <User Name> <Number>.wbd (An example is: Susan Wilson1.wbd); the "User Name" is the same as your name. The number is based upon how many Whiteboards you may have already opened, which is incremented every time you add another new Whiteboard to the meeting. The name of the file associated with the current Whiteboard is displayed on the title bar of the Whiteboard application and has the “.wbd” extension.
The default location where this file is saved is where VIA3 stores its temporary files. If, however, the Whiteboard was opened from the new Whiteboard button , then this Whiteboard does not yet have a file name associated with it; so, if you click the save icon , then you will be presented with the "Save As" dialog box.
